Mobile Learning @ Roane State | Roane State Libraries: What is Mobile Learning?

This guide supports the implementation of mobile learning at Roane State Community College.

RSCC Mobile Learning Pilot Program

Mobile technologies like the iPad, Android tablets, and smartphones offer new opportunities to engage students in creative, challenging and collaborative learning. Roane State wants our faculty to get familiar with these new technologies and to explore their productive, appropriate use in the classroom.

Roane State's Center for Teaching Arts and Technology has partnered with Library Services, Network Services and other departments across the college to find creative, effective uses for mobile technologies in the classroom and then support those uses through training, equipment and infrastructure.

We support the development of mobile learning in a variety of ways:

  1. CTAT offers iPads available to faculty interested in trying one. Find out more.
  2. CTAT and the library partner on workshops and other training. See upcoming events.
  3. The library finds and organizes the best educational apps related to Roane State disciplines.
